In times of yore I set a formal table and hosted an elegant Thanksgiving repast with a table of friends and family. We enjoyed our holiday feast accompanied by Tiffany crystal, Cartier, Herend, Tiffany Flatware and their ilk . Ahh, the civilized joy of it all.
Then I had kids. Small children required paper plates lest I spend the holiday cleaning up shards of china. Thankfully, the table remained festive. Then friends — mine and my children’s – joined our Thanksgiving meal which upped the frivolity… and the plate count. William Sonoma came to the rescue with their festive, scratch- and shatter-resistant, the BPA-free set of plates and glasses.
Nowadays, it’s back to china and good flatware but I no longer have the patience to hand wash well… anything. So, I’ve gone with these dishwasher safe choices. The dishes are festive and when set with gold flatware give the table a warm glow. Or, for everyday dining we eat on Hudson-Grace dish ware.
Whatever type of china, I hope that your holiday preparations are fun and your holiday meal is shared with loved ones. So Suzy Says.
